How to deal

Deal the whole deck out, one Queen short, as evenly as it goes. Everyone lays down the pairs they hold.

How to play

Starting left of the dealer, each player offers their hand face down to the player on their left, who takes one card. Any pair made is laid down. Play continues round the table.

How you win

The pairs run out until one player holds the single card with no partner: the old maid. Everyone else has won.

W.F.A. deck setup for Old Maid

Play without the four 1s and take one Queen out of the deck: 51 cards.
