How to deal

Deal three cards each from the 40-card deck and four face up on the table.

How to play

On your turn play one card. If it matches a card on the table, take it; if it equals the sum of two or more cards on the table, take those instead. A matching single card must be taken before a sum. If nothing matches, your card stays on the table. Clearing the table completely is a scopa, worth a point. When the hands run out, deal three more each until the deck is gone; the last player to capture takes whatever is left.

How you win

Score a point for the most cards, the most coins (diamonds at our table), the 07 of coins, and the best primiera, the best card of each suit with sevens counting highest, plus a point for each scopa. First to eleven wins.

W.F.A. deck setup for Scopa

Play without the four 1s, then strip the 8s, 9s and 10s: 40 cards, the 07 in as the seven and the top pip card.
