How to deal

Deal twelve scoring cards each from the double deck. The players who hold the two Queens of clubs are partners for the hand, usually without knowing it until the Queens are played.

How to play

The trump suit is long: every Queen and Jack, every diamond and the two Tens of hearts, with the Tens of hearts highest. The player left of the dealer leads; follow suit if you can, otherwise play anything. A trick won by two identical cards goes to the first one played.

How you win

Count the cards captured: Ace eleven, Ten ten, King four, Queen three, Jack two. The Queen-of-clubs side wins with a hundred and twenty-one of the two hundred and forty points, and the score grows with every announcement made and every extra threshold passed. Highest total after the agreed number of hands wins.

W.F.A. deck setup for Doppelkopf

Two W.F.A. decks without their 1s, each stripped 2 through 6 and with the 8s set aside: the 07 stays in as a dead low card worth nothing, which leaves the standard 48 scoring cards untouched.
