The 52 Qard Game Series · Reserve bench
Klaverjas
Choose the trump, score the roem, beat a hundred and sixty-two.

How to deal
Partners sit across the table. Deal eight cards each from the 32-card deck in bundles of three, two and three.
How to play
The player left of the dealer may choose the trump suit or pass; if all pass the choice comes round again. In trumps the Jack is highest, worth twenty, then the Nine, worth fourteen. You must follow suit, and when you cannot you must trump unless your partner holds the trick; you must also beat a trump already played if you can.
How you win
The side that chose trumps must score more than the other from the hundred and sixty-two points on the table, including ten for the last trick and any roem: three or four cards in sequence in one suit, or four of a kind, played to a single trick. Fall short and the defenders take all the points. Sixteen hands make a game.
W.F.A. deck setup for Klaverjas
Play without the four 1s, then strip 2 through 6: 32 cards, the 07 in as the lowest card.
