The 52 Qard Game Series · Reserve bench
Bourré · Booray
Stay in, follow suit, beat the trick. Take none and you have gone bourre.

How to deal
Deal five cards each and turn the next card up for trump. This table plays for points on a scoresheet, never for a pot: every seat starts a hand by putting one point into the hand's score.
How to play
After seeing their cards each player stays in or folds. Those who stay may discard up to five and draw replacements. The player left of the dealer leads. You must follow suit and beat the highest card already played if you can; otherwise trump; otherwise throw anything.
How you win
The player who takes the most tricks collects the hand's points. A player who stayed in and took no tricks has gone bourré and adds a penalty equal to the hand's value to the next hand. Highest point total after the agreed number of hands wins.
W.F.A. deck setup for Bourré
Play without the four 1s: 52 cards, the 07 in as the seven.
