The 52 Qard Game Series · Season 3
Truco
Three cards, a raise you can bluff, signals across the table.

How to deal
Deal three cards each from the 40-card deck. The strongest cards are the 1 of spades, 1 of clubs, 07 of hearts and 07 of diamonds, then the 3s, 2s, remaining 1s, Kings, Jacks, Queens, remaining 07s, 6s, 5s and 4s. At our table the 1s of the W.F.A. deck fill the Ace's place.
How to play
Three tricks are played with no obligation to follow suit; the higher card wins and a tie belongs to nobody. Before or during a hand a side may call truco to raise the hand from one point to three, and the other side accepts, raises again, or folds. Calls are read in the eyes of your partner: signals across the table are part of the game.
How you win
The side taking two of the three tricks wins the hand's value; a tied first trick is settled by the second. First side to twelve points wins, with the final hands played for the table's full value.
W.F.A. deck setup for Truco
Play without the four 1s, then strip the 8s, 9s and 10s: 40 cards, the 07 in as the seven and the top pip card.
